Being actively involved and managing the Drupal-Indy group over the last few years, I have seen how local groups can swing in attendance and interest. In this session I will talk about some of the ideas we have incorporated into our group including Hackfests, class-style meetups, bar socials, special case study events, and a number of extra ideas that we are currently moving forward with. Many of these ideas come from other Drupal events where I have been able to collaborate with local leaders and share ideas, so the last part of this session will be open for members of local groups to share experiences and how they’ve overcome certain hurtles.

The goal of this session is to share ideas about how to maintain interest in your local community and drive fun and exciting events that will promote a growing local community.
